These guys , Billy Graham etc... are everything but true christians .
There's already a conflict within christianity when it comes to gender roles . I believe ( and i want ) this conflict to soon escalate to an absolute ,all-out confrontation .
I'm on the side of those who want to reclaim the christian label from morons like Billy Graham .
In the end it all boils down to three simple things christians must agree on :
_Teaching the value of abstinence and purity is not conflicting with giving information about contraception .Information and knowledge is empowerment and ignorance just fuels useless fascination .
_Being abstinent , even from a christian point of view , has not to be done only to please god or because god wants it . Abstinence has a simple psychological benefit . Having sex with more than one partner in your life makes you , on a psychological level , unable to focus on any futur partner ( even if you deeply love this futur partner ) because there will always be a part of you who will regret and miss out on the past sexual experiences that could be more intense .
_The gender role assignation in christian mariage must simply be opened to a whole new array of combinations where men must DO THEIR DAMN SHARE OF HOUSEWORK CLEANING COOKING
CLEANING REARING /EDUCATING CHILDREN STAYING AT HOME ETC ... and women would without restraint pursue their professional careers .
_ Equal expectations placed on young men when it comes to sexual conducts .
The fact christian consider that there should not be equality betwin men and women in the christian marriage , that women should feminine and unable to have intelectual activities and practical and financial total freedom and that they should stay in the house and sacrifice their professionbal career , and their willingness to not apply sexual conduct expectations on young christian men and their false idea that god is a man , that god wants women to have a different role in life is contradictory to the ideas of justice of jesus .
